Wrap a Loc!

Here's a shameless plug for a new product for all you product junkies! Its a tool that will give your locs a straw set! Check out pics here. What I like is that you wear the style with the tool in and out of your hair. Lemme know what you think.

I've seen their cards, but for the life of me, I can't understand what they're doing. Unfortunately, I can't see spending such a large sum of money, without knowing more. Do you use one tool for each lock? And how would it work on SLs since they're so much smaller than the traditional locks pictured on their cards? Do you take a small bunch of SLs and put the tool in? And what does the tool look like? (or is it a secret like the SL tools - LOL!)

I agree! I just want to know, are they pipe cleaners!? They look like they are some kind of wire. . .but $75 to take the class is a bit steep for me too. I'd rather find someone who already knows how to do it and pay them (:

I've seen this site before and showed it to a friend. From the styles, I got the impression that they were probably comparable to a Flexi-Rod. They never did show what the tool looked like. I need to see what I'm getting before I cough up money.

Yeah, I am equally confused.... So you have to go to a stylist to get the style done? If so, how do you get to walk around with the tool in your hair? And why don't they show the thing!?!?!? If this is not something that I can't buy and try on my own then I am much less interested....

I live in Charlotte, NC and the natural hair salon I go to offers Wrap-A-Loc services. I just got it in last week Friday, and I must say it is EXTREMLY cute. I have never gotten so many compliments because of a hair style in my life. Basically it’s a flexi tool (almost like a flexi rod, but very thin) and they wrap each of your locs individually. My stylist after wrap my locs flipped my hair. I'm going to wear my hair like this for 2 to 3 weeks and then I'll go back to her to clean my scalp and remove the tool. The curls last another 3-4 weeks. If you are looking for a way to shorten your locs without having to cut it this is the way to go. Please keep in mind my locs are down my back, and with this tool it looks like a bob. WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY :)

Hi All,

I'm not locked, but am natural looking for a different way to wear my hair (currently sporting twist outs or a curly fro (wash-n-go). The website indicates that it will work for natural hair as well. I a bit hesitant to drop too much money on a new technique without seeing it done first.
